Today, Sibi facilitates high-volume building product transactions across categories like appliances, HVAC, paint, cabinets, flooring, and more. As we grow, we are expanding into more complex offerings, including labor-enabled programs and client-specific technology solutions.

The Role

We’re looking for an ambitious Accounting Lead who wants more ownership than a traditional accounting role offers. You’ll work directly with Sibi’s CFO, own day-to-day accounting, and build the systems and processes that support a growing technology company.

This is a hands-on role: you’ll close the books, reconcile complex transactions, manage revenue and rebates, and work with Engineering and Operations to automate manual processes. It is a strong opportunity for someone ready to grow toward a Controller role.

What You’ll Own

• Accounting and close: General ledger, journal entries, reconciliations, AP/AR, accruals, balance sheet integrity, and monthly, quarterly, and year-end close.

• Financial reporting: Financial statements, cash reporting, margin analysis, KPIs, and leadership reporting.

• Revenue and rebates: Accounting for product sales, rebates, labor programs, pass-through costs, financing, and technology fees; partner reconciliations and settlements.

• Payments and sales tax: Stripe administration, payment reconciliation, refunds, disputes, multi-state sales tax, and exemption certificates.

• Systems and automation: Improve accounting systems and data quality. Use AI tools to build and maintain accounting automations yourself, and partner with Operations and Engineering on integrations and larger workflows.

• Analysis and compliance: Support pricing, unit economics, margins, forecasting, and cash management; maintain controls and coordinate with outside tax and audit advisors.

What We’re Looking For

• Active CPA and 5+ years of accounting experience.

• Master’s degree in accounting or professional accounting preferred.

• Strong US GAAP, accrual accounting, revenue recognition, reconciliation, and financial reporting skills.

• Excellent Excel and analytical skills; comfortable with large transaction datasets and new systems.

• Careful, resourceful, and accountable, with clear communication and a willingness to solve problems without an established playbook.

• Excited to use AI and automation to remove repetitive work and collaborate across Operations, Data, Product, and Engineering.

Experience With Any of the Following Is a Plus

• Big 4 public accounting

• Marketplace or software accounting

• Multi-state sales tax

• Stripe or other payment processors

• Accounting system integrations or APIs and data warehouses such as Redshift

• AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor
